3D print model

Description

This is a digital 3D printable model of Locomotive. The train is designed as a DIY project to create  a homemade air humidifier. Humidifiers create a comforting indoor condensation level that can soothe dry skin and help you breathe more easily. Some houseplants like increased humidity as well.  The locomotive humidifier is also a nice decoration for your home.

The download contains pieces of the model ready to be 3D printed on a 200 mm print bed and also files that are not cut into smaller pieces. All cut parts are placed on the print bed as we would print them to save you time.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
There are 2 versions of the locomotive 3D model. One contains a water container, which you’ll insert into the locomotive. When printed correctly, the container won’t leak.
The other version consists of 2 pieces (top and bottom) of the locomotive, which require waterproof gluing. We recommend applying a coat of epoxy resin to the inside of the locomotive to ensure the 3D printed train is genuinely waterproof.
In order to create a functional humidifier, you’ll need a USB powered humidifier diffuser. Another example here. Both will fit the chimney.

SIZE
At 100% scale the model’s dimensions are approximately:
Width 101 mm
Length 217 mm
Height 146 mm
You can scale the model as you wish but we can’t guarantee that at a much smaller size the model will print well.

3D PRINTING SETTINGS

For the water container:
– Turn off the top layer
– Infill 0%
– Increase wall thickness to 3 or 4 perimeters
– Bottom layer 4 perimeters

For the rest od the model:
(We use these settings for most of our prints)
– Layer height 0.2 mm
– Infill 15%
– Supports 45°

We try to make the models in a way that uses as little support material as possible.
This model is meant to be post-processed after printing. This can be gluing, sanding, painting, etc.

Printing settings will vary greatly depending on your specific printer.
