Description
This 3D printable model is a steampunk Frigate. You can use the ship as a playable terrain in your tabletop game campaigns.
All the different levels can be taken apart so your adventure can take place on different decks at the same time. Several parts of the frigate can be moved after they are assembled with the ship. The harpoon and cannon on the upper deck are meant to be attached with magnets (8mm diameter, 2mm height) and then they turn 360°. The chimney that goes down to the engine room is hollow and if you attach a mini smoke machine to the base of the ship the vapour will come out of the top. Parts that you should add to the frigate after printing are ropes, masts, sails and a chain for the anchor.
Krotitélé Draků used this model in their campaign Za srdcem Azary
The post-process you see in the photos was done by RPG Forge
The download contains pieces of the model ready to be 3D printed on a 200 mm print bed. All cut parts are placed on the print bed as we would print them to save you time.
At 100% scale, the frigate is about 70 cm long, 21 cm wide and each floor level is 5 cm tall.
3D PRINTING SETTINGS
Some parts will look much better if printed on an SLA printer. We printed the harpoon on an SLA printer the rest of the parts were printed on a Prusa MK2S.
We use these settings for most of our FDM prints:
Layer height 0.15 mm
Infill 15%
Supports 45°
For parts that are tall but have a small base, we use a 10 mm brim for better bed adhesion.
We try to make the models in a way that uses as little support material as possible.
This model is meant to be post-processed after printing. This can be glueing, sanding, painting, etc.
Printing settings will vary greatly depending on your specific printer.
