A Moon-shaped ring box based on the real surface of the Moon.
Twist it open, and the treasure rises from the center 🌕

This model comes in two versions:

"It may be a small step for humankind, but a giant leap for your relationship."

  • Snap-fit assembly
  • Lift system that raises the ring or meteorite as the box opens
  • Iris-style mechanism, twist the Moon to reveal what’s inside
  • Two versions included:
    • Ring version 💍
    • Meteorite crater version 🌑

3D printing settings

  • Layer Height: 0.15 mm
  • Material: PLA
  • Reduce the print speed slightly for high-speed printers
  • Print in white, grey, silver, or glow-in-the-dark ✨

Assembly

  1. Cut the 16 joiners that print in the first layer of the top part.  If you have very good bed adhesion, you can print the torture test version and skip this step.
  2. Spray a bit of lubricant on the mechanism, or add a couple of drops of oil
  3. Snap the two parts together
  4. If you are printing the ring version, cut out a piece of foam, approximately 41 mm in diameter, with a slit for the ring, and place it on the platform inside (I used a melamine sponge cut with a kitchen knife and scissors)
  5. Insert a ring 💍 or a lunar meteorite 🌑
  6. Enjoy the reveal
