Expedition 33 Glowing Monolith Book Nook
Here’s a little something for fellow Expedition 33 fans. A digital 3D-printable Glowing Monolith Book Nook. Think of it as a tiny slice of the expedition tucked quietly between your books, humming with that familiar yellow shimmer.
📦 What’s Included
STL files for the box and the interchangeable sheets, plus 3MF versions of the sheets with layer-color changes already set up.
🖨️ Printing Notes
- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- No supports needed
- Color changes on the first 3 sheets
I’ve had the best results with translucent yellow PLA for the glow, and silver or grey on top.
🛠️ Assembly
It uses a regular IKEA STRIMSÄV LED spotlight, which slides into a rail on the back (with a button) so you can shift the light around and press it to turn on/off whenever you want. Just slot the printed sheets into the box - different placements make different effects, so it’s fun to mess around with it.
There are several Book Nook designs, and they all fit the same box. We made them as part of our team Christmas activity, and they’re all compatible - so feel free to mix and match if you’re in the mood to blend a couple of universes together. Like painting your own canvas!
No Printer?
Totally fine. Your local 3D printing shop can handle it.
A Bit About Us
This is a fan-made project by 3Demon, a small team in Prague that’s been modeling and 3D-printing things for over a decade. We make everything from cosplay props to odd little creations like this. If you end up printing it, hope it adds a bit of that Expedition 33 mystery to your shelf. 😊
