3D printable model

Description

This is a digital 3D printable model of a Gaboon Viper (Bitis gabonica) Skull. The snake skull model is based on a scan. It was made for the National Museum in Prague.

The download contains pieces of the model ready to be 3D printed on a 200 mm print bed and also files that are not cut into smaller pieces. All cut parts are placed on the print bed as we would print them to save you time. The individual pieces need to be glued together. The download also features a stand so you can display the Viper Snake skull on a shelf.

SIZE
At 100% scale the model’s dimensions are approximately:
Width 123 mm
Length 200mm
Height 105 mm
You can scale the model as you wish but we can’t guarantee that at a much smaller size the model will print well.

3D PRINTING SETTINGS
We recommend printing the skull on an SLA 3D printer to preserve as much of the details as possible.
If you only have an FDM printer we recommend using these settings:
Layer height 0.1 mm
Infill 15%
Supports 45°

For parts that are tall but have a small base, we use a 10 mm brim for better bed adhesion.
Printing settings will vary greatly depending on your specific printer.
