SIZE
At 100% scale the model’s dimensions are approximately:
Width 401 mm
Length 225 mm
Height 700 mm
You can scale the model as you wish but we can’t guarantee that at a much smaller size the model will print well. We create our 3D models on our average-sized body template. Read about the sizing and how to scale the models to fit your body here.
ASSEMBLY
You will need a 4mm diameter metal rod for the finger mechanism axles. The required lengths are specified in the names of the corresponding STL files. Cut the rod to these lengths using a hacksaw.
Video assembly manual included
To view the assembly in detail, open the OBJ file using Blender, 3D Builder, or a similar 3D viewer. Use the “separate” function to split the model into individual parts and clearly see where each piece belongs.
3D PRINTING SETTINGS
We use these settings for most of our prints:
Layer height 0.15 mm
Infill 15%
Supports 45°
For parts that are tall but have a small base, we use a 10 mm brim for better bed adhesion.
Printing settings will vary greatly depending on your specific printer.
We try to make the models in a way that uses as little support material as possible.
This model is meant to be post-processed after printing. This can be gluing, sanding, painting, etc. We use hex-pegs (included in the files) that will help you connect the cut pieces of the model.
Do you like the model and don’t have a 3D printer? There are lots of people who offer 3D printing services these days. Try searching for someone who offers them in your area.
